Welcome the guest to their table
Present menu and provide detailed information (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
Provide excellent customer service, by doing a constant follow-up of the service, orders and guests satisfaction.
Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
Inform customers about the day’s specials and offer menu recommendations
Up-sell additional products when appropriate
Train new waitstaff on basic techniques and the specific expectations and procedures.
Coordinate shift covers, and disciplining waitstaff as necessary.
Check if the waitstaff place orders correctly and deliver them to the correct tables.
Take accurate food and drinks orders, using POS ordering software.
Tops up water, wine, and drinks.
Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Communicate order details to the Kitchen & Bar
Serve food and drink orders
Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
Deliver checks and collect bill payments
Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware for cleaning
Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties, big groups)
Follow all relevant health department regulations
Direct timing of table
Speak to manager and appropriate team member regarding dishes which are late or substandard
Speaks to manager/kitchen regarding orders/dishes for guests with allergies
Communicates with manager regarding any issues with guests
Assists with cleaning breakages and any spillage in the restaurant as they occur
Always follow the standards for order of service
Be ready and willing to assist all team and guests whenever they need
Ensure seamless service
Requisitos : Proven work experience as a Head Waiter or Waiter/Waitress in 5* Hotels, High-End Restaurants or comparable, in terms of quality, Beach Compounds
Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system (POS)
Basic math and excel skills
Strong communication skills in English and Portuguese. Other languages are welcome.
Responsibility and punctuality
Excellent presentation skills
Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
High school diploma; food safety training is a plus
Driver’s License & own vehicle
